About Me

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at St. John’s University.  I received my M.A. and Ph.D. in Communication Science and Disorders from Northwestern University and completed my Clinical Fellowship in Speech-Language Pathology in the Chicago Public Schools system. I am currently a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in Illinois and New York. I also hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).

My research spans across multiple disciplines, including Psycholinguistics, Linguistics, Developmental Psychology, and Communication Sciences and Disorders. Throughout my research career, I have collaborated with researchers across many disciplines.  I have several publications in peer-reviewed journals, as well as book chapters, and have presented my work at more than 25 conferences around the world. 

Aside from my research and education, I am an active, tenacious, dedicated, and conscientious individual. I am originally from Westchester County, NY. I’ve lived in three states including Pennsylvania, Illinois, and now again in my home state of New York. I currently live in Astoria with my boyfriend, Logan, and two cats, Marlin and Marcel. 

Outside of work, I enjoy biking, running, weight lifting, yoga, and staying active. Living in New York City, I have been enjoying Broadway shows and new restaurants as well. I am a huge fan of commercial aviation. If I see a plane close enough in the sky, I can tell you the airline, the airplane, and sometimes even the flight route. With this interest, I also enjoy traveling. I have visited 19 countries thus far and plan to visit many more.
