February 2025

  • Max obtained tenure at St. John’s University, which will take effect September 1, 2025.

January 2025

  • Max led the first iteration of a new Global Studies program in Rome, Italy with graduate students. He and his students implemented an English language immersion program with preschool-aged children.

August 2022

  • Max and his partner, Logan, were married!

May 2022

  • Max and his partner, Logan, became engaged in the Canary Islands.

  • Max led a group of 12 students from his course, Language Acquisition, on a 10-day short-term Global Studies program in Salamanca, Spain. He and his students implemented an English language immersion program with preschool-aged children.

  • Max was awarded Summer Research Funding from St. John’s University to carry out this clay-based language stimulation program during Summer 2022.

  • Max was awarded the Sinatra Endowment again, this time to support the second iteration of the clay project.

September 2021

  • Max received the Academic Service-Learning Exploratory Trip Award. The funds were used to conduct the exploratory trip to Spain to determine the feasibility of the short-term Global Studies trip within Language Acquisition (May 2022).

June 2020

  • Max was awarded the Seed grant from St. John’s University to support the clay-based language stimulation program.

May 2020

  • Max was awarded a grant, the Richard and Camille Sinatra Endowment, through St. John’s University.

    • This grant will be used to fund his research on Claynguage.

  • Max, along with his co-author, Patrick Walden, had their paper accepted into Seminars in Speech and Language, Literature-Based Strategies for Clinical Fellow Mentorship. (Published online July 2020.)

June 2020

  • Max completed his first academic year at St. John’s as well as a Speech-Language Pathologist in private practice.

July 2020

  • Max was awarded St. John’s University’s Seed grant.

    • This grant will be used to fund his research on Claynguage

  • Max, along with his co-author, Scott Schroeder (and others), had their paper accepted into the Journal of Communication Disorders. More details to follow!
